Find Your Grind now supports truly blended learning environments - with new tools that make it easier to recognize and manage student work done off the computer.
What’s New?
We’ve introduced six new assignment-type badges that help clearly communicate the purpose of offline or mixed-modality work:
Reflect
Plan
Write
Research
Create
Present
Each of these badges can now be completed either digitally or physically. If a student creates a poster, delivers a speech, completes a journal entry, or builds a prototype in the classroom, they can still get credit.
What Students See: Manual Turn-In Flow
When a student encounters one of these badges in a lesson:
They’ll see the assignment type clearly labeled.
If the work was done offline, they can choose the “Hand my work to my teacher” option.
This option will immediately grant them the star, acknowledging their effort without requiring them to type or upload anything in the platform.
This keeps motivation high and reinforces that offline work is just as valuable as online work.
What Educators Can Do: Request Retakes
If a student submits a response that doesn’t meet expectations (for any notebook-generating activity - not just assignments), you can now prompt them to revise and resubmit:
Go to the Student Notebook Entries tab of any lesson.
Click the “Request Retake” button for any student response that doesn't meet your expectations.
Confirm the action in the pop-up modal.
This will:
Remove the star the student earned
Notify the student with a pop-up message next time they log in
Prompt them to re-complete the activity to earn the star back
Why This Matters
You can intentionally break up screen time in your class
Students can stay active and engaged with hands-on or in-person work
Your classroom rhythm and grading practices are fully supported within the platform
Whether you're running a fully digital class or a more traditional setup, Find Your Grind meets you where you are.
🎯 Quick Tips
Look for teal-colored badges in lessons to spot assignment types.
Use the new options to guide journals, speeches, creative projects, and more.
