Creating a Username and Password Login via a Free Clever Account

Below is how to set up Find Your Grind with Usernames and Passwords by creating a free Clever account.

In order to Log in using a Username and Password system you'll need to set up a free Clever account. Find Your Grind works with Clever as an authentication partner for single-sign solutions and username and password sign-in solutions. Please follow the steps below to get started.

Part I - Creating Your Clever account, formatting your data, and uploading to Clever

  1. Create your free district account at https://www.clever.com/district-signup

  2. A Clever specialist will reach out to you with onboarding instructions to set up your account (normally within 24 hours)

  3. To initiate username and password - select “other” when prompted to choose an SIS system to sync with

  4. Follow your onboarding instructions to import student data using .csv files. Clever provides you with step-by-step video instructions here:

    1. 1. - Setting up CSV files for: Schools.csv (watch all videos in the series)

      1. IMPORTANT: To ensure your data can sync correctly with Find Your Grind, we ask you to please fill in the highlighted rows MAKE A COPY: FYG <> Clever CVS formatting

      2. Make sure to save the files as a .csv

  5. Once all spreadsheets are complete, on your Clever Dashboard go to Sync->Upload

  6. Add all of CSV files and click upload. Congrats.

👉 Please note: If you left some of the columns blank there may be errors. Continue with the upload in these instances.


Part II - Setting up the Username and Password Log in

  1. On your Clever dashboard, navigate to SSO & Portal -> SSO Settings -> Login method -> Clever password authentication

  2. Choose how your students will log into Clever. Make sure to select Student Username format: Email and Student Password Format: District Password

👉 Please note that even if your students don't have 'emails' per se, a fake email is needed to sync with our system. Thus, please make sure the email column was filled out and that the Student (as well as teacher and staff) Username format is email.

Part III - Integrating/Sharing Data with Find Your Grind

  1. Now you can add Find Your Grind as an application to Clever! Use this link to add Find Your Grind: https://schools.clever.com/applications/add/find-your-grind directly

  2. Contact your Find Your Grind Customer Success Manager once the Find Your Grind application has been requested. Our team will handle the rest and be in touch with you shortly!

  1. How is my student and educator authentication data stored when using this sign-in method?

    1. All student and educator data is stored in the Clever platform. It is your responsibility to accept the privacy policy and terms and conditions of Clever

  2. Who is responsible for managing student and educator data in Clever?

    1. The partnering district or organization is responsible for managing student data and educators on Clever (with the Guidance of your Customer Success Manager).

  3. I have questions about the Clever service, How can I find out answers?
